Emmons switched things up slightly at halftime to relieve some of the pressure the visiting Spartans were putting on his club.
'We had a four-way change with Brad moving into one of his former positions. He felt comfortable down there, and it definitely worked out for us. The in-game adjustments were crucial.'
The changes worked like a charm as it gave McDonald a chance to rotate down closer to the goalie and find the goal.
McDonald was getting pushed around the whole game but finally broke out of the gridlock he was in with the Stoneham defense. 'Brad really kept his head in the game and I give him credit for that,' Emmons said.
The Chieftains will now focus on stopping a dangerous Swampscott team that knocked off North Andover on Saturday, 4-3 in overtime
